X-RAY SPECIALIST

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented X-Ray Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using X-ray equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety and comfort. The X-Ray Specialist will collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures as per physician orders while adhering to established protocols and radiation safety guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for X-ray examinations by explaining procedures, positioning them appropriately, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Operate X-ray equipment and ensure its proper functioning; perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues as necessary.
  • Review and evaluate images for quality and completeness, making adjustments as needed to obtain optimal results.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures performed, patient responses, and any notable findings.
  • Assist radiologists in interpreting X-ray images and provide any necessary additional information for accurate diagnosis.
  • Educate patients and their families about the X-ray process, safety measures, and post-procedure care.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control and safety procedures.
  • Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and best practices through continuous education and professional development.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to process improvements and patient care initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Valid state license and certification as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience as an X-Ray Technologist or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of radiographic procedures and protocols, anatomy, and radiation safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent technical skills in operating imaging equipment.
  • Compassionate demeanor with strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and care.

Working Conditions:

  • The role may require standing for extended periods and moving or lifting patients as necessary.
  • Exposure to radiation; adherence to safety protocols is essential.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
