LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various laboratory tasks that support scientific experiments and research. You will work under the supervision of senior laboratory staff and contribute to the smooth operation of the laboratory by conducting tests, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments for experiments and tests.
  • Collect, label, and store samples accurately according to established protocols.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and experiments in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Record and analyze data from experiments, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare reports and communicate findings to senior staff members.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Order and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
  • Participate in training and development to stay current with new techniques and technologies in the field.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience as a laboratory technician or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory equipment and techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations governing laboratory work.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using laboratory management software and basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office).
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
